About Us
The Furniture Depot began to fill a specific need within the community by providing good quality furniture at greatly reduced prices. Every weekend we get to help those in our community who are going through life events and changes in financial situations.
We also provide furniture free of charge to persons experiencing difficulty and are recommended by a county agent or a church leader. While anyone can shop at the Depot, our customers are primarily young families, single parents, college students, and downsizing elderly. Our volunteers take great pride in knowing our customers’ stories. Everyone is actively listened to treated equally.

All profits made from the Furniture Depot go to directly to Freshwater Church’s Love in Action program. Love in Action offers aid to those in our community that are experiencing a short term financial strain in the form of such things as gas/grocery gift cards or utility payment help.
Need us to pick it up?
We do offer a fee-based pickup service on Saturdays, within 20 miles of the Freshwater Furniture Depot. Please allow at least two Saturdays for us to pick up items. Our pickup volunteers are typically not able to enter a home, but in some instances (elderly or apartment, usually) there is an exception made with a signed liability waiver and an extra fee.
Pickup Fees: Base fees for standard garage or curbside pickup are $10 for up to ten miles away from us, $20 for up to twenty miles from us. Please expect a double rate for waiver exception cases. 5+ boxes counts as one furniture piece. 4 boxes or less can be added without fee.
The pickup/delivery fee goes to the driver to reimburse for fuel in pulling our 7×14 ft trailer.

Donations
Donations can be brought to our location during open hours.
Items we cannot accept: mattresses, box springs, sofa beds, clothing, linens, entertainment centers, tv armoires, pressed fiberboard pieces, metal filing cabinets, large desks, exercise equipment, or any piece of poor quality.
Items we do accept: Gently used or new furniture in solid and clean condition, lamps, wall art, home decor, small housewares, decor, new or slightly used toys, and kid’s books (given to our child shoppers for free).
Donations must be: in good condition, free from any rips, fraying, pilling, stains, missing or broken pieces, or excessive animal hair. Donations must be clean, and of good, gently used, or new condition quality. Volunteers have the right to refuse any donation that does not meet quality standards. Donations are tax-deductible.
